But back to the Fic Library. It is, or will be, a much more ephemeral collection of fic that will be available in the Hospitality Suite. Con goers can enjoy a story during downtime or check one out for a few hours.
If you would like to submit a hard copy of a story or stories, email me at missmurchison at gmail dot com with the following info:
-title
-author
-fandom
-pairing or gen
-approximate word count (see below for length restrictions)
-short summary (100 words or less for our labels - longer summaries can go on the first page of your fic)
-website (if you would like this included)
-whether you will mail your fic or bring it with you
Print out your fic, 3-hole punch the pages, and put them in a report binder. (Cheapest kind works fine. But loose pages get torn and lost easily.) If you aren't attending, email me and I'll let you know where to mail the fic or, if it's short, I'll print it for you. I'll bring along extra binders and labels for all the fic I'm informed about ahead of time.
I'll also create a "catalog" that I'll post online to make it easier for people to find fic they didn't have time to finish or other fic by the same author.
On the last day of the con, all the fics will be put up for adoption unless otherwise noted. Last time, people grabbed the stories to read on the trip back and everything had a home. So if you want your hard copy back, mark this information clearly on the front cover.
Fic requirements
-If you submit more than one fic, provide stories from different categories and fandoms, if possible. We'd like a good variety.
-You may submit fics of up to 20,000 words. (Yes, you may go 500 words over that limit. No, don't send all of your 300,000 word saga. Remember, it's just a weekend con!)
-If you want to share a fic of over 20,000 words, print out a sample and/or provide a URL for the rest of the story.
-If you have several short fics, please consider submitting them together, especially if they are part of a series.
-Collections of drabbles and other very short fics may be submitted - in fact they're a great idea. But please place as many as possible in one collection and provide a title for the collection, not the individual fics. For instance, print out all your drabbles about a particular 'ship and label them "Spectacular and Sexy Spander Shorts." Or group them by rating, fandom, etc.
Let me know if you have any questions or if you notice I've forgotten something important.

And WIPs are okay, as long as they are clearly marked as such.

Here's what I've printed out, or will be printing when I replace the ink cartridge:
title – Old Friends
author - Slaymesoftly
fandom - BtVS
pairing or gen – gen with hints of Gethan
approximate word count - 8500 + or -
short summary – Set some time after NFA, references some comic events. Riley shows up at Council HQ to offer Giles a chance to save Ethan from being executed. Buffy accompanies him to the prison and finds two surprises there. All three prisoners are liberated and brought back to the Headquarters to be patched up and fed. Now to decide what to do with them….
title – You Can’t Go Home
author – Slaymesoftly
fandom – BtVS
pairing – Gethan
word count – 1843
summary – Years before Giles becomes Buffy’s watcher, he gets a visitor from his past who wants to spend the holidays with him. They slip easily into a physical relationship that masks, for a short while, the very different paths they’ve chosen. A bit angsty.
title – He Ain’t Heavy
author – Slaymesoftly
fandom – BtVS
pairing or gen – Spike, Xander friendship; Spuffy by implication
word count – 2400
summary – BtVS, season VI. Someone had to find Spike and get him home after Buffy beat him. It could have been Xander, whose basic decency is featured in this fic.
Let me know if this is too much of one fandom. I'll probably bring them with me unless I have them ready to go by the end of the week. Oops! That's tomorrow. Okay, maybe get them in the mail by Monday...
